Meet Our Team

Alison Thiel - Director and Senior Occupational Therapist. Alison juggles a client caseload with the management of a business and all that comes with that. Since graduating from Charles Sturt University - Albury in 2006, Alison has worked in a variety of practice areas, giving her diverse skills, knowledge and experience. She has worked in remote indigenous communities; palliative care; specialist vision service; community health; acute hospital; in-patient rehabilitation; Hand Therapy & the private health sector. Having worked in the north east of Victoria since 2008, Alison has great knowledge of the local area and support services available to ensure your clients receive the assistance they require to ”live life to their greatest potential”.  
Sarah Sheather - Practice Manager/Administration - works a day and a half a week ensuring the invoicing runs smoothly and general business management. Sarah has a young family that she adores.


Nerae Anstee - Senior Occupational Therapist - Nerae joined the team in 2018 in a full time capacity and has been a brilliant asset to the team. She has been working in Private Practice in the community settings for the last 6 years and has a special interest in home modifications. Nerae studied at Latrobe University in Bendigo. Outside of work, Nerae enjoys coaching and playing netball.


Simone Svarc - Occupational Therapist - Simone joined the team initially in a part time position 2 days a week however at the commencement of 2020 she increased to working full time. Simone has skills in a vast number of clinical areas, with particular interests in Neuro Rehab and Pain Management. When not working, Simone enjoys keeping fit, enjoying nature and visiting wineries. 

Jane Day - Occupational Therapist - Jane has been an OT for over 35 years, working in a variety of settings including acute and tertiary rehab, vocational rehab and residential aged care. She has been a team leader and operated her own private practice in the past. Jane has a particular interest in neurological disorders and the prescription of adaptive equipment and complex seating. Jane is married with 4 adult children and has a keen interest in swimming, walking and cooking.
 
Stevie Jo Maher - Occupational Therapist - Stevie completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy with honours from Deakin University Geelong in 2016. She has since worked across the hospital setting, rehabilitation and community private practice, developing an interest in orthopaedic and neurological conditions. Stevie relocated from Geelong to Albury at the start of 2021 to chase the better weather and mountain ranges. Stevie is passionate about seeing clients in their own home environment, understanding their experiences and working with them to find the best solutions. She has an interest in home modifications and equipment prescription with the goal to maximise independence and safety at home and in the community.

Terri-Ann Palmer - Occupational Therapist - Terri-Ann has been an Occupational Therapist for 20 years working primarily in rural community settings.

Terri-Ann loves travelling, crotchet and playing the ukulele.
Robyn Sharman - Allied Health Assistant - graduated from her Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant in 2018. She assists the Occupational Therapists with tasks to help them provide a thorough and timely service to our clients as well as completes direct support for clients under the direction of one of the OTs.


Narelle Alkemade - Allied Health Assistant - Narelle completed her Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance. Narelle has been working in the health sector for 8 years including as a career in a nursing home, community care and allied health assistant positions. Narelle is now growing her skills and assisting the Occupational Therapists with different supports to help them provide care to their clients.

Days & hours of operation

Live Well Occupational & Hand Therapy Services is an appointment based service within our usual hours of Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. 

We strive to offer flexibility and as we understand that these days and times don't always work with people and their busy lives, please speak with one of our friendly staff if and we will endeavour to assist you with an after hours appointment.

All Live Well OT & Hand Therapy services are offered in the comfort of your home.

Clinic Location

Live Well OT has a clinic at Unit 19, 659 Young Street, Albury. Enter via the Dance Studio, down the ramp and go straight down the corridor to the end. Our clinic is the last on the left hand side.

Depending on where the individual lives and their unique needs, therapy can and regularly is in their homes.

Live Well OT also has access to consulting rooms in both Wangaratta & Benalla.

Live Well OT can assist:

  • Self-funding individuals including State Trustees
  • People who are eligible for
    • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
    • Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA)
    • WorkCover
    • Transport Accident Commission (TAC)
    • People who have Private Health Insurance with extras including Occupational Therapy Services
    • People who have funding through Aged Care Packages, Flexible Support Packages, Post Acute Care etc
  • Chronic Disease Management Program through Medicare (formally Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Program)
Live Well OT is registered to provide both Occupational Therapy & Hand Therapy for clients covered by BUPA Private Health Insurance
Home Care Packages

Referrals

Live Well OT will accept self-referrals as well as referrals from health care providers. A Doctors referral may be required depending on the funding source – Live Well OT can liaise with the clients GP to arrange this if required.
